Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with acute or chronic wounds. Your expertise in wound management and your ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans will be crucial in promoting healing and preventing complications.

Duties:

- Assessing and evaluating patients' wounds to determine the appropriate treatment plan

- Cleaning and dressing wounds using aseptic techniques

- Administering medications, including topical ointments and injections, as prescribed by the physician

- Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary

- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care

- Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and self-care at home

- Documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely

Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Previous experience in wound care management is required

- Proficiency in administering injections

- Knowledge of memory care principles for patients with cognitive impairments

- Familiarity with acute pain management techniques

- Understanding of occupational health practices

- Expertise in infection control measures

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

- Knowledge of senior care principles and practices

- Understanding of laboratory procedures related to wound assessment

- Familiarity with hospice palliative medicine concepts

- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws related to wound care
